Best guess for the age of the boat is around 1971, Mike would probably be able to give you a better idea.
New boats are most certainly still being made, in fact I picked my new boat up three weeks ago from Jeff Green and am currently in the middle of fitting it out ready for its first open meeting at Carsington. I understand Jeff may also be starting work on building another new Javelin next month.
Jeff manages to build a fine boat without the distraction of digital technology. If you have a specific question for him,I will be in touch with him in the next few days and will be happy to forward your enquiry.
I don't need to ask him about this one!I know he is likely to say that as no two Javelins are alike in terms of systems and accessories its impossible to quote a general price. Most of us begin with a bare hull and then work out where we would like the fittings that suit our preferences. The great advantage of gaining experience in an older boast is that a previous owner will have done some of the development work for you and you arle likely to have only a few refinements to add.Perhaps toestraps moved to suit the sitting out style that works best for you or a cleat repositioned if you are left handed. There is the freedom to make these changes within the class rules which means that the boat evolves and is not simply the package of many years ago frozen forever.
Interesting to see this Really looking forward to 568, Rich.
I must say that the price is looking good. This means 5540,55 in euros, and Bergner still charges 7000 That is if he's ever going to build another Javelin.....
I am currently referbing one and i saw another not in a good state so i was looking into how old that one was and if it was worth trying to get it back on the water.
With a new boat i was just looking to see how you where able to create your own boat. Adam
