Is there any chance we can get some more details posted on the website about the social programme and perhaps a link to the music festival that is happening over the first weekend.
Could we also have an entry list started so we know who's going to be there. Arent has already started a list on the Dutch site.
It might also be worthwhile having a set time on the Saturday for measuring sails etc.
How about a nice sum-up of things? I made a article "10 reasons to go to Southwold" on our website, however there is many stuff i don't know yet. Last year at the UK-Nats some ideas were seeded, what is the follow up on that? We like to know: the prize of the event, registering (we already have 3 boats on out site), when to come, when to go, possibility of a trail race on saturday?, options (breakfast, dinners and stuff), can we put al the tents up?, can caravans/mobile homes stay in front of the clubhouse? etc. etc. Please let us know
Still need to confirm a couple of things but this is where we are so far.
Sat 18th Arrival - (the tides are not great with low water early afternoon so a practice sail depends on how keen you are launching and recovering at low water, although an evening sail would be nice)
Sun 19th Racing between 10am to 12pm (1 race planned to get back in before low water)
Mon 20th Racing between 10am to 1pm Tue 21st Racing between 10am to 2pm Wed 22nd Racing between 10am to 2pm Thu 23rd Racing between 10am to 2pm Fri 24th racing between 10am to 1pm
Entry fee will be £100 per boat. This includes fee camping for tents and camper vans (Camper vans must let us know asap so we can allocate space) Richard Fisher (Dick) has almost singlehandedly increased the campsite area by three times So space for tents should not be an issue.
We've ordered in some more toilets for the event but our attempts at getting more showers has proved to be too expensive. However this is Southwold so we will have plenty of sun (not quite as certain as Hourtin but we are the driest part of the UK) so bring a camping shower with you. We are just finishing the social programme but the outline is; Sunday afternoon - Civic reception with nibbles on (Helm & Crew included in entry fee) Monday evening BBQ (cost to tba) Tuesday (nothing formally planned) Wednesday - Championship dinner (Helm & Crew included in entry fee) Thursday - RLNI event (if all goes to plan)
Southwold really is a wonderful place to visit with lovely beaches, fabulous pier with old fashioned attractions (and some new ones which we ignore!) some lively pubs in the evenings, great beer and excellent resturants, not forgetting the best fish 'n ' Chips in the world. If you plan to stay in, right next door to the club we have a Fishmonger who sells fish right off the boats, you can't get fresher than that!
Is anything planned for Friday night? I think an all in bbq or something could be a good idea...We'll also need to do the prize giving as well so pretty much everyone should be there.
Looks like team Glossop might have the most boats there....any clubs willing to take on the challenge?
Speaking of Glossop, we'd love to see some boats from the continent at the Nationals. The reservoir is full, we have camping available (free) and should have at least 8 club boats out. Arrive a couple of days early and have a trip to Manchester (20 mins away) ot Liverpool (1 hour away) if you fancy.

A bit off-topic, but are there any boats available? It's just a little too far to drive
To save me having to duplicate information I've also started a general news and chat thread on the Southwold site to keep you all up to date with the latest news reguarding the Euros -SEE HERE
So far we have only 6 UK boats registered for the Euros.
We really need people to let us know if they are coming as it's hard to organise the required support, sponsorship of races and camping space needed without knowing who is planning to attend.
It really cheered me up ( in the middle of editing video ) I recommend reading it. The translation software has done a magnificent job of mangling the text into something quite remarkable but ultimately charming.
