Space frame and centreboard supports finally in place on 511. Not sure that my back has yet recovered - I shall use that as the reason for the time it has taken me to get this far.
As for the foredeck, I have the pieces that I cut out - at a 30% angle with a jigsaw. With the right mix of epoxy and silica I should according to the experts be able to glue them back in (I will use strips of gaffer tape round the edge to support it whilst it dries) then a skim of eposy filler should make it look OK. At least I hope so as with the various supports under the deck I don't fit up there any more!! I think however i will stencil "do not stand here" on the these areas (Like they do on aeroplane wings)!
Looking good lots of work done and to do! Really like the carbon struts on the centre board casing,do you comissions!!!
Fitting clear makalon/perspex as the deck would look really cool and unbreakable too.
Commissions I don't do. Not sure I will ever undertake something like this again, but I won't go for the Steve Redgrave quote "If you see me etc etc .............." just in case. On a separate point, does anyone know who runs up full length spinny chute socks as probably ned to sort this out before the deck goes back.
